Your First Visit

If you are a first-time patient at Back Basics, you will need to give us some information about your background, medical history and the nature of your condition. This is so that we can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances.

What To Expect

  • A bit of paperwork

You will need to fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. We will be happy to assist you with the paperwork.

  • Consultation

During your first consultation with the doctor, you will discuss any health-related issues and concerns. You will also learn about potential treatment options.

  • History and examination

In order to pinpoint the problem, Dr. Pellegrini, D.C. will evaluate your injury by looking at your medical history and performing a variety of targeted tests to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. You will then receive a diagnosis and he will utilize detailed visual explanations to discuss the mechanism causing your injury. This indepth explanation allows you to understand what types of activities cause your symptoms to arise so you can proactively help prevent injuries in the future.

  • Treatment

Dr. Pellegrini, D.C. utilizes a sports medicine treatment philosophy that focuses on increasing mobility, stability and proper body mechanics. Patients will generally undergo their first treatment on their first visit after the examination is completed and you have discussed treatment options. Treatment protocols will vary based on the injury, but patients could receive relevant therapeutic modalities including some of the following: cryotherapy, electrical stimulation, soft tissue (myofascial release), ultrasound, manual therapy, advanced therapeutic exercise and spinal adjustment as appropriate.

  • Scheduling the next appointment

Regular treatment is essential to the process. We make every effort to work our treatments around your schedule. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-3 days of their initial visit.
